Where There Is A Will, There Is A Way
有志者，事竞成
Last month, I took part in a Digital Video Competition held by UNICEF. I planned to make the DV about people’s dreams. I hoped many different people would talk about their dreams in front of the camera. It would be hard work because I would have to both film and edit the DV by myself.
On Saturday morning, my friend and I walked along the crowded streets with my DV camera. Some people looked at us curiously. Meanwhile, we were busy looking for people who have interesting dreams. But I became dismayed after three people had refused my request. I began to realize how difficult it is to interview strangers. People always get shy and nervous.
Then I decided to interview my friends. I called one of my friends up and wasn’t surprised that she also refused me. I argued with her for half an hour and finally I persuaded her to change her mind. I told her “Don’t be shy, tell your dream to me boldly. Nobody will laugh at you.” In this way, I successfully interviewed most of my friends and more than 10 strangers. My father did the editing and finished in only one day. Two days later, we emailed my DV “Our Dreams” to UNICEF .
That was a significant experience. I used to think there are some things too difficult to do, but now ,I agree——where there is a will, there is a way.
上个月，我参加了联合国儿童基金会举办的DV摄影作品比赛。之后，我计划并着手开始制作关于人们的梦想的DV作品。我希望各种各样的人在我们的DV机前说出他们的梦想。我不但需要拍摄而且要制作，这是一项辛苦的工作。
星期六的上午，我和我的朋友带着我的DV机沿着充满人群的街道走着。一些人好奇的看着我们，与此同时，我们也在忙着寻找拥有有趣梦想的人。但是，在三个人拒绝了我的要求之后我非常的失望。我开始意识到采访一个陌生人是很困难的。人们总是害羞并且紧张。
我决定采访先从我的朋友入手。于是我给我的一个朋友打电话，我并不惊奇她同样拒绝了我，但我劝说了她半个小时并且最终让她改变了主意。我对她说“不用害羞，大声地对我说出你的梦想，没有人会笑话你。”通过这种方法，我成功的采访了我绝大多数的朋友和十多个陌生人。接下来，我的爸爸居然仅仅用了一天的时间就完成了DV的制作！两天之后，我们将我的DV作品——我们的梦通过电子邮件寄了过去。
这是一次有意义的经历。我曾经认为有一些事情是真得非常困难去解决，但现在我认同一句话——有志者，事竞成。
学习经验介绍： 英语是一个工具，而不是一项特长，多读，多听，多练，多积累，才能够得心应手的使用“工具”。
