To be a Good Girl - 做一个好女孩

Annie isn’t a smart girl but her sweet and gentle smile always makes people around her feel comfortable. She is quiet, but she has a lot of friends. At that time I tried to be a girl like her, but I couldn’t because few students wanted to make friends with me. When I saw some students playing together, I had a vehement desire to join them.
One day, to my surprise, when I was resting, Annie waved to me: “Come and play with us, Ruby.” Nobody knows how happy I was when I heard those words. Gradually, I made friends with some of the other students. Nevertheless when Annie wasn’t with me, I was ignored. I told Annie my problem and what she said has influenced my life.
She told me that I was too frosty with others that everybody thought I was a conceited girl. “ If a person has a smile on their face, the people around them will be happy too.” she said “And you must help others as much as you can.” Then, I decided to be a passionate girl.
Now when some old people get on the bus, I’ll ask them to take my seat. When some students want to borrow something from me, I’ll lend the things to them. They are simple activities, but I really try my best. Now I get on well with my classmates. I still don’t talk very much because I prefer to be a girl who talks less but does more.

Annie不是一个漂亮的女孩，但她甜美柔和的微笑总会令她身边的人感到舒服。她很文静，但她有许多的朋友。在那时我努力想成为一个像她那样的女生，但我做不到因为几乎没有人想与我交朋友。当我看到许多同学在一起玩时，我是多么强烈地想参加到她们其中呀。
有一天，出乎我的意料，在我休息时，Annie向我招手：“Ruby,到这里和我们一起玩吧。”没有人知道当我听到这句话时心里有多么高兴。渐渐的，我和其他的同学交了朋友。但我发现当Annie不在我身边时，他们就不理睬我了。我告诉Annie我的烦恼，她对我接下来说的一番话影响了我将来的生活。
Annie告诉我我总是冷冰冰的以至于其他人都认为我是一个骄傲的女孩。“如果一个人有一张笑脸，那么她周围的人也会很快乐。”她说“你必须尽可能的多帮助别人。”她的话深深地打动了我，所以我决定在以后更友好和乐于助人。
现在当一些老人上车时，我会主动给他们让座；当一些学生来我们班借东西时，我会借给他们这些东西。 现在我已经有了许多的朋友，并且和我们班的同学相处得很愉快。我仍然说话不多，因为我想成为一个少说多做的女孩。
学习经验介绍： 上课时多与外教交流，学英语不怕不会说，就怕不敢说，只要张开口，口语就会有很大提高。
