Beautiful Qingdao-My Home (美丽的青岛，我的家)

My name is Liu Chao. You can call me Gloria, too. I’m 13 years old. I was born in a beautiful coastal city—Qingdao. The city has a long coastline dotted by red tiles and green trees, a bluish sea and a blue sky. In the evening, the beach is a good place for people to have fun. Sitting down near the sea, enjoying the sea wind, drinking Qingdao beer and eating delicious seafood and roast meat (KaoRou) are activities the people of Qingdao really enjoy.

Qingdao also has many kinds of festivals, including the Qingdao International Beer Festival and the Ocean Festival. The festivals attract thousands of people from all over the world each year.

Qingdao is a tourist city, and is rich in natural resources. There are many beautiful scenic spots and places to visit here. My favorites are Mount Lao, Conveying Bridge, Underwater Sea World, Little Fish Hill and the TV Tower. Many people come here for their vacations every year. Qingdao is also the partner city for the 2008 Olympic Games, which will be held in Beijing. I am certain that many foreign friends will come to Qingdao to watch the sailboat races. So we must study English hard from now on. I know we will make a lot of progress by 2008.

Qingdao is a big family, and everyone is a member of it. So we should love our city, and make a better future for it together.
