My Experience in Taking Part in a Contest－我的比赛经历

Hello, everyone! My name is Sui Zichang. Those who know me well always say that I am a sunny boy and never get worried or nervous. However they don’t know that my being nervous in a contest almost cost me the golden prize.

I was fortunate to be selected to attend the Contest of Electronical Organ for Youths and Children in Shandong Province in September 2005. Fully prepared for it, I was full of confidence while entering the examination hall of the preliminary contest.

I was the third contestant to go onto the stage. The beginning part of my performance was perfect. However, when I unintentionally looked down into the audience, I found so many people sitting there, including other contestants who were waiting for their turn to get onto the stage. The Judges were attentively listening to my solo and occasionally talking to each other about something. For some unknown reason, I suddenly breathed heavily. My hands sweated and my mind went blank. As a result, my entry in the contest was finished with several pauses, which was not as fluent as I expected.

I learned lessons from that experience. So during the final performance, I focused on the organ keys only and all that was in my mind was my music. Finally I got two golden prizes as the first place of the group and was awarded the title of “Little Performer of Shandong Province”.

In my opinion, life is just like a contest and a contest is like study. No matter what one wants to do, he can only achieve his goal through great concentration.

大家好。 我叫隋子畅。认识我的人大多都说我是一个不知愁，不紧张的阳光男孩。可就是因为紧张，我差点与金奖擦肩而过。
2005年的金秋十月，我有幸被选送参加山东省青少年、儿童电子琴大赛。由于赛前准备充分，我信心十足地走进了预赛考场。
第三个上场的我，一开始发挥出色，自我感觉很好。谁知当我无意中往台下看了一眼，台下黑压压的坐满了等待比赛的选手及他们的家长。前排的评委们正在聚精会神的听着，偶尔会低声互相交谈几句。不知为何，我的心突然紧张起来，双手也变的汗漉漉的，大脑瞬间一片空白，本来很流利的曲子断下来反复几次才弹完。
决赛的时候，我吸取了预赛时的经验，把比赛当作是一次平常的练习，眼睛里看到的只有琴键，脑子里想的只有乐曲，完全沉醉在美妙的乐曲中。 最终我以小组第一的成绩如愿以偿的获得了两个组别的金奖，并获得山东省小演奏家的称号。
生活就象比赛，比赛如同学习，不管做什么，只有专心致志，全神贯注投入，才能取得成功。
