My Best Friend (我最好的朋友)

   Hello everyone. My name is Tian Yuhui. You can call me Mandy in English. I’m 12 years old. In my class, I have a very good friend. Her name is Li Yingjie. Her English name is Dlina.

   She has big eyes and a big mouth, and she is taller than me. She has a very friendly personality and likes laughing very much. She often laughs and sometimes does so without any special reason.

   I will tell you a story.

   Once, we were studying during a scheduled study period. Dlina drank some water in the class, and she gave off an odd sound, which made our teacher angry. After a while, she gave off that sound again, and she laughed to herself. At that time, some classmates also laughed. The teacher became very angry; she made all the students who had laughed leave the classroom. The teacher reprimanded them. When they came back, they all felt sad except Dlina. She still laughed as she walked back into the room.

   Sometimes laughing gets her in trouble. The teachers always tell her to be serious in class, but she responds that she can’t. She says she can’t help laughing.

   I like to be with her all the time. She gives me a lot of happiness. We are good friends. We are always together every day, like twins. It’s a lot of fun, like having a sister.
