My Hobby

Hi, everybody! My name is Wang Furong. I study at Wen Deng Road elementary school and I am in grade five. I have a lot of hobbies, such as dancing, painting, playing the piano and doing sports. My favorite hobby is reading.

Although I have a lot of homework to do, I still try my best to squeeze some time in to read. That is why my mother has given me the nickname” bookworm.” Since I like reading so much, I spend most of my free time in the bookstore.

I have a lot of books at home. I like adventure books as well as books on composition. From those books, I have learned a lot about the outer world and my writing skills have also improved. When I need to write an article, the beautiful sentences that I have learned always inspire me.

Books not only teach me, but also comfort me like friends. Once, I felt depressed after being criticized by my father. I went to my room and picked up a book to read. After a while, I was so involved in the book that I forgot what had happened earlier.

Some say that books are the steps that lead to humankind’s progress. I will continue to read helpful books in order to enrich my life and to acquire more knowledge.

虽然我的学习任务挺重，但我总是见缝插针的挤时间看书。妈妈为此还给我起了个“书虫子”的绰号呢！因为爱看书，所以书店便成为我最爱光顾的场所。

我家有很多书。我喜欢探险方面的书和作文书。这些书不仅可以帮助我更多的了解外部世界，还提高了我的写作水平。在我写作文的时候，总会有很多我以前读过的好词好句源源不断的来激发我的写作灵感。

书籍不但可以给我提供知识，而且还会像朋友一样来安慰我。有一次，我因受了爸爸的批评，心情很沮丧。我回到自己房间随手拿了一本书看起来。看着看着，我就沉醉其中了，以至于把刚才发生的不快早都抛到九霄云外去了。

人们常说，书籍是人类进步的阶梯。我要继续读书，读好书，来丰富自己的课余生活，学到更多的知识。
