Looking for Courage from Failures

Failure is something that can make your sky dark and take away all the sunshine from your mental world. As long as we can get back our courage from failures, we can surmount any difficulties in life and the door of success will open naturally to us.

I still remember the first time I played basketball in a formal match. It was a nightmare for me and made me really embarrassed and disappointed. I played quite well when I was alone. But watched by crowds of people, I was extraordinarily nervous and didn’t know what to do at all. Moreover, what I got from the audience was just pressure not encouragement. Due to my extremely bad performance, we lost the game.

On my way home, the scenes of my stupid mistakes took up my entire mind. My father realized my unhappiness immediately. I told him what happened and looked forward to getting some sympathy and comfort from him. However, he said, “I can’t help you. In fact, nobody can do you a favor except yourself. So you have no choice but to take the responsibilities. Failure is not a good thing, but you shouldn’t be defeated by it easily.” After these words, he went away, leaving me alone. What my father said made me calm down and begin to think about the whole process. I understand that the reason why I couldn’t play as well as usual was lack of courage.

People say, “Success is that old ABC—ability, breaks and courage.” Ability comes from attempt and practice. Breaks come from luck and fortune. But courage comes from our hearts. All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.

重拾勇气

失败会使你的天空一片灰暗，他会带走你精神世界的所有阳光。只要我们能从失败中重新找回勇气，我们便能克服任何困难，成功的大门自然会向我们敞开。

我仍然记得第一次参加篮球比赛时的情景，他对我来说简直是噩梦，使我既尴尬又失落，当我一个人时本以为打得很好，但是在众人的注视下，我紧张的无所适从。我从观众那里得到的是压力而不是勇气，由于我极糟糕的的表现，我们输了球。在回家的路上，我所犯的愚蠢的错误仍然历历在目。我很想摆脱这种失败感，但是发现只是徒劳，我爸爸立即从我的眼神中看出了我的不愉快，我告诉他事情的经过，并希望得到些许安慰，但令我惊讶的是，他说道：“我帮不了你，除了你自己，谁也帮不了了，除了为失败负责，你别无选择，失败不是好事，但是你应该从中学到些什么。”说完后他转身离开，留下我一个人，爸爸的话使我冷静下来并开始反思整个事件，我不能像平常一样，就在于缺乏勇气，我产生一种强烈的感觉：从某种意义上说，我爸爸是对的。

有句话说：“成功有三要素：能力，机遇，勇气。”能力来自于尝试和锻炼，机会来自运气和命运，但是勇气来自我们内心，只要我们有勇气去追求，一定会梦想成真。
