My Favorite Thing——我最爱做的事

Hello, everyone! My name is Xian Bing Chen, and Ben is my English name. I am 9 years old.

My friends often ask me what my favorite thing is. The answer is----reading. The famous essayist Francis Bacon once said: “Reading makes a full man. ” I think that is the truth. Books open a window for me to learn about the outer world; books provide a platform for me to share famous writers’ experiences; books also offer a chance for me to find the answers to many questions. In a word, books are my teachers as well as my friends.

When I want to know the local conditions and customs of other countries, books give me the information; when I want to find out the secrets of successful scientists, books give me the information; when I lose my way in my life, books show me the correct direction.

I am grateful that books were invented. Accompanied by books, I am sure I will have a meaningful childhood.

我的朋友经常问我一个问题：我最喜欢做的事是什么。答案是--读书。著名的散文家Francis Bacon曾经说过：“读书使人变得完整。”我认为这是一句真理。

书籍为我打开了一扇了解外面世界的窗户；书籍为我提供了一个分享文学大家们经历的平台；书籍还为我找到各种问题的答案提供了一个机会。总之，书籍既是我的良师又是我的益友。

当我想了解其他国家的风土人情时，书籍可以给我信息；当我想找出科学家成功的秘密时，书籍可以给我信息；当我在生活中迷失自己时，书籍可以给我指明正确的方向。

学习经验介绍：每天坚持听英语磁带，反复朗读英语课文，尽量用英语跟别人交流。总之，兴趣是我学习英语的动力。
