What Is “Wealth”（财富是什么）

Hello everyone! My name is Yan Shenyue.

I’m 11 years old, and I study in Qing Dao Li Cang Experimental Primary School.

Do you know the meaning of wealth? Is it money, power or a great career?

I think “frustration” is true wealth. You may think wealth means success and frustration means failure. But as you also might have heard, failure is the mother of success.

One day, Miss Liu asked me to go to her office and said: “Yan Shenyue, you did not do well on your English test this time.”

Then she passed me my paper. I got a 95. Suddenly tears shot from my eyes like a fountain.

I was really very sad. Why? I couldn’t believe my horrible mark. I wanted to shout, but I couldn’t. It was a fact, and I had to face it

After a brief period of frustration, I made up my mind to concentrate on learning English well. In addition to the regular school English lessons, I also go to Leewen to learn English on the weekends. I had to travel a long distance to get to Leewen school every Saturday, but it was all worth the efforts. Now, after two years of hard learning, my English has really improved. I got a really good result in my latest English test.

Though frustration is pain, sadness and failure, it is my version of wealth.

学习经验： 学习英语除了要上课认真听讲外，还要多听、多念、多写原版英语，最重要的时不要学“哑巴英语”。
