春运---Passenger Transport During the Spring Festival Period

Passenger transport will soon be coming during the Spring Festival period. Statistics shows that the capacity of passenger transport has increased by 4.3% this year compared with the same period last year. In addition, it will reach its climax before and after the Spring Festival. However, government has decided not to raise the train ticket prices during the Spring Festival this year, which is good news for migrant workers.
Spring Festival is the most important festival in China, and families are used to having a family reunion, to celebrate this traditional festival. Therefore, a large number of people choose to go back home before the Spring Festival. Passenger flows are mainly from Beijing, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Wuhan and some other big cities. Most of the passengers are college students on their winter vacation and migrant workers retuning home for Spring Festival.
? To make sure that people return home on time, authorities have opened 24-hour ticket offices and special trains will be coming into operation. Besides, group ticket booking will considerably facilitate college students. With the development of the economy, more and more people enjoy traveling by air for comfort instead of by train. Some people even prefer to travel abroad by air during this time, which can also relieve railway pressure.
? There have turned out to be a great many problems due to the large demands of train tickets. Scalping, high price train tickets, has always been a tough problem to face, which does harm not only to the passengers but to the railway department as well. This year, the railway department as well as the police has taken effective measures to crack down on scalpers and regulate ticket sales, making passengers return home, safe and sound. However, cracking down on scalpers needs every passenger’s cooperation: in order to guarantee your interests are not violated, please book train tickets by phone and your tickets will be delivered soon to your doorsteps or go to the sales windows to buy tickets in person.
