My favorite subject 我最喜欢的学科

　I have always enjoyed studying math. I think math is a wonderful subject. For one thing it can make you smart, and for another you will be very happy if you solve a difficult math problem all by yourself.

　For a long time, math has been the center of my life. I have taken part in many math competitions and have won several prizes. My teacher and my parents often give me encouragements; they say that if I work harder than before, I will be able to do even better. I know I should work hard, but I always think I am so smart that I don't have to work so hard. I know I am wrong, because genius is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration. Practice makes perfect.

　By now, however, I start to like English a little better than math. How I wish to improve my English! I listen to English tapes again and again until they go to pieces, so that I can speak English better. I believe, nothing in the world is impossible if you set your mind to do it.

　No pains, no gains! The Great men from ancient to modern times have all had to strive for success. The world famous inventor, Thomas Edison, is a proven example. He devoted all his life to scientific research, and as a result, he successfully patented over 1000 inventions. So I think great works are usually achieved by perseverance.

　As life progresses, overcoming difficulties can be a challenge for us. Every time we successfully overcome a difficulty we become stronger and more confident.

　I believe, during my lift-time, there will be a lot of difficulties, I believe that if I try my best to do it, I will be able to overcome the difficulties and succeed, and my dreams will come true!
