Just as the saying goes, life is full of surprises. There are many unexpected events in life, such as a meteor which crosses the sky before we even realize it's coming.

When I was in grade 2 in junior school, I took part in The China National English Proficiency Competition for Secondary Students. It was the first time for me to take part in this kind of large-scale English competition. I was weak in many aspects, including the preparation of the article, the skills to show my strength and the ability to keep calm in public. Though I tried my best to prepare for the competition, there were many mistakes exposed in my performance. At the same time, I couldn't help admiring other excellent competitors for their wonderful performances. Their fluent oral English impressed me deeply! I found the difference between them and I, and it became the impetus of my English study.

From then on, I began to pay attention to English magazines, and listen to English songs. Learning English has become interesting. I often tried to talk to myself silently in English, and now I could express some simple feelings naturally in English Interest is the mouth of spring, it moistens my heart with English happiness and knowledge. With time passing, I feel I've become stronger and stronger in English.

Forrest Gump's mother said: “ Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you gonna get.” An occasional chance, an occasional competition brought about a leap in my English study! There are too many unexpected events in life. You never know what they will bring you. Don't worry, just look at these events with a right attitude, and seize the chances when they come, you'll catch the meteor and the future!

培养自己对英语的兴趣，不把它当作一门功课，而是一位朋友。多参加有关英语的活动、比赛，多听英语歌，多关注英语杂志。善于积累、实践。偶尔把自己置身于英语的电影里，也大有益处。
