My Beautiful Hometown – 我的家乡

I live in a very beautiful city called Qingdao. There are many tall buildings or “sky-scrapers” in the downtown area. These buildings carry a mixed design. They are modern in structure but their roofs look traditional. My teacher told me that this mixture is the result of combining modern western architecture with traditional Chinese architecture. The scenery here is charming. May 4th Square lies in the heart of Qingdao. It is big and pretty. Zhanqiao pier stretches out to the deep waters of the ocean. Laoshan is not tall, but it's very famous for its natural beauty. There are many beautiful parks, such as Zhongshan Park, Xiaoyushan Park, and Xiaoqingdao Park.

My house is near the sea. I like the sea very much, because it is wide and blue. It gives me a lot of joy. In the summer, many people like to go swimming in the sea. I do too. If there is a typhoon lurking, the waves can be quite big and splendid. It's great! In Spring and Autumn, I often go to the beach with father and mother. I like to play on the beach and in the water. I like to make sandcastles and to draw on the sand.

I like my hometown very much, because it is warm in winter and cool in summer. People in Qingdao enjoy a pleasant climate all year round. Welcome to Qingdao, my dear friends!
