I Like Learning English – 我喜欢学英语

Everyday, on my way to school, I see a lot of foreigners walking on the street. I often hear Chinese people talking to them with smooth oral English. Although I can't entirely understand what they say, I know that English is becoming more and more important in our daily lives.

I started to learn English when I was 7 years old. In fact, I didn't like to learn English at first. Like most children, I preferred to draw and to play football. But my mother always encouraged me. In those days, she didn't threaten me with a stick or other forms of “JiaFa”. Instead, she often asked me, “Do you want to communicate with foreigners in excellent English?”

“Of course I do!” I answered firmly.

“OK, from now on, work hard on your English and your dream will come true.”

I nodded my head because I knew that dream was important. It still is and I must try my best to achieve it!

Now, I have been learning English for nearly 4 years. I find that English has become the most important part of my life. English gives me confidence and a lot of happiness.
